• Awareness and Environment: Promote awareness about intellectual property among faculty and students, fostering a research-driven environment.

• Creators are required to promptly disclose any potential intellectual property to the IPR Cell of SILVER OAK UNIVERSITY.
• The IPR Cell will assess each disclosure to determine ownership and assess its potential for protection.

• The IPR Policy will be reviewed periodically by the IPR Cell and amended as necessary to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
• Any amendments to the policy will be communicated to all stakeholders.

• The university encourages the commercialization of IP through licensing, joint ventures, or startup.
• Revenue generated from commercialization will be shared between the university and the creators as per the revenue-sharing policy.
• The revenue arising from the licensing of IP and royalty shall be shared between the inventor and the Institute in the appropriate ratio, which is currently 70% to the inventor and 30% to the Institute.

• All individuals or teams working under the university's incubation centre (referred to as "Incubees") shall be bound by the following conditions
  • Any intellectual property (IP) generated during the incubation period, using university resources or mentorship, shall be co-owned by the incubator and the university unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
  • Incubees are required to sign an agreement detailing the IP sharing model prior to the initiation of any project.
  • All IP rights generated by the Incubees must follow the guidelines established by Silver Oak University's IPR policy and must not violate third-party rights or engage in plagiarism or unauthorized use of external IP.
• Mandatory Registration of Patents and Startups:
  • Any patent filed, intellectual property created, or startup launched by students, faculty, or researchers within Silver Oak University, using the university's resources, guidance, or funding, must be registered under the name of Silver Oak University.
  • The university will hold ownership or co-ownership rights for such patents or startups, and a clear revenue-sharing agreement will be made, ensuring a fair distribution of benefits between the creator(s) and the university.

• The inventors must disclose any conflicts of interest and furnish a certificate affirming the absence of any conflicts of interest related to the invention/technology in question.

• The policy covers patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets, new plant varieties, and geographical indications.
• These categories represent the spectrum of intellectual property protected under the policy.

• In case of any dispute regarding the intellectual property in question, the aggrieved party may appeal to the President, whose decision shall be final and binding.

• All members of the university community must maintain confidentiality regarding IP disclosures and related matters.

• The university will organize regular IPR workshops and training sessions for faculty, staff, and students.
